Curator's Note This dress is a 2019 re-edition of a design from Azzedine Alaïa's Spring/Summer 1992 collection. The original was worn by Naomi Campbell, who referred to Alaïa as "Papa" - the affectionate bond that gives the piece its name. The design has since been worn by Carla Bruni and Brooke Shields, and appeared on Fran Fine in the American sitcom The Nanny.
