More Information A/W 1994 Thierry Mugler black skirt set with deconstructed velvet star and bow motif. Long sleeve tailored blazer with nipped waist and contrasting velvet pointed star / splatter and bow at front waist and cuff. Jacket has built-in shoulder pads (removable as desired) and zip closures at wrist. Pairs with straight mini skirt with matching velvet detailing at front left hemline. Hemline curves slightly upwards at velvet panel. Skirt has concealed back zip and single snap closure. Fabric contents removed; feels like wool with cotton velvet contrast. As seen in “Blade Runner” editorial in Vogue Paris December 1994 issue, in the ad campaign, and photographed by Helmut Newton for the campaign in Neiman Marcus. In very good vintage condition with very slight balding and visible stitching throughout velvet (unnoticeable when worn unless upon close inspection). Snap closures at waist have been tailored; additional 1.2" panel added at waist can be worn to extend sizing or can be tucked under bow for original construction (not visible when worn).
