KURB Newsletter August 2026

This was by far KURB’s busiest month and to think next month will just have us pushing harder. Every page, every backend endpoint, every technical integration, every business decision, every social channel has been teased, scrutinized and squeezed while adding a whole new assortment of new features. This will be a more expansive Newsletter where I’ll detail it all so sit tight and read on! There’s even a nice surprise waiting for you towards the end.

Just last week we launched KURB’s biggest platform change to date with KURB Credits. There’s a whole blog detailing the thinking and strategy that went into it but in summary there were two fundamental reasons for this change: 

1. Unlock access to previously KURB Pro gated features for everyone,

2. Allow KURB to more stably grow the platform.

We’re excited to hear your feedback as you familiarize yourself with the new setup so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re having trouble setting up the device notifications, getting around all the new features or just want to share your opinion on the change! This was coupled with massive improvements to our backend technology. We had a surge of new users last month (thanks to you guys sharing the KURB word) that put the load-bearing-capacity of our systems to the test. In response we managed to improve the search speed performance by up to 10 times so hopefully it can sustain this new influx of use.

Our optimizations haven’t all just been focused on the KURB backend, as we have almost completely overhauled the entire site. We were locked in on improving the small device experience and in doing so every single page on the website has been thoroughly revised. Everything from the button design to the page layouts have been touched up. A Dark Mode toggle was even smuggled in so you no longer have to be blinded by KURB’s infamous pearly white UI. The website changes were not simply cosmetic, they were engineered to optimize website performance. Not to give too much away but these changes really set the stage for our next biggest announcement coming out soon!

It’s been a long time coming but we finally updated the service from which KURB all started, our Discord bot service. Our Discord server has gone through a lot of changes as the bot chugged along but I thought it was high time we went back and tuned it up with all the latest KURB bells and whistles. Now any KURB Pro user can configure a KURB Private Discord bot for their own Discord server which has almost the same power as the KURB website itself. You can now do keyword searches like “jacket -raincoat” where the “-” will mean any “raincoat” results will be excluded from the search. This adds a tremendous amount of power to the search system where someone can now layer a complex set of filters with further keyword fine tuning to match results to exactly what you’re looking for. However we could only have come here with your feedback. That wraps up the KURB Newsletter tech session but it doesn’t conclude everything we’ve been up to on KURB. All our socials have gone through a huge change too. You may have noticed the ghastly appearance of Ali on our reels- yes, same guy writing this and the same guy who appears in most of the outward communication. I’m sorry to say, expect much more of him in the coming months. Our brand director has also become a bit of a whizz at Cavalry and has started putting together really sick animated creative assets. As he perfects his craft you can look forward to many more dizzying arrays of precise and slick KURB communication. With this flood of new short form content it has become high time for us to spill it all onto our newly anointed Youtube channel. It’s very much in its gestational phases but as I begin to populate the backlog you can enjoy all our short form media entering that space as well! As KURB grows we will continue to iterate on new formats to see what works but so far it’s been a blast as we’ve donated many nights into our own little niche video editing softwares.

With the rate KURB is developing there’s nothing I can listen to but super fangled breakcore. This month’s playlist is as messy as a dozing off to a DayZ stream played over a wee-aboo break-core beat. Premium brain melt material.
